Shopping can be pretty hectic and tiring on a normal day let alone in the big January sales. This year they’re bigger than ever before and to make sure you get the best deals possible I’ve made a list of some of my favourite apps to help you along the way plus a description of what they’re like.
First up is SalesGossip. I absolutely love this app as it mixes up all the best fashion and beauty promotions online and on the high street, allowing all you shoppers to find deals on the go, identify which shops stock the product category they’re looking for, get directions and check-in for exclusive in-store promotions.
This app also lets you swipe to see more of what yoy like and less of what you don’t. A bit like Tinder, but for fashion! You can swipe left to like an item, right to dislike, and up if you don’t care; the brands and promotions you see in future will be tailored to your preferences! Awesome, right?
Next up is getHunt – this app lets you plan your shopping spree before you even leave the house, to ensure you don’t end up wandering around aimlessly. How? Well shoppers can first search for the items they want online and and drag and drop their favourite items into the toolbar, using the getHunt web extension.
They can then sync their list of items with the getHunt mobile app, which will map a route around the shops, based on their current location, making shopping more cost and time-effective. No more wandering back and forth ladies!
Next is VoucherCloud – It lets you maximise your savings this January with this one little app. Vouchercloud uses GPS technology to pinpoint offers and discounts that are nearest to you – wherever you are in the UK (not sure about the US).
All you need to do is pick the offer you want by pressing the redeem button and the voucher is delivered directly to your phone screen. When you show the voucher on-screen at a store or restaurant, they they will scan the barcode or input the reason code to make the necessary discount. Magic!!
One of my ultimate favourite apps is RedLaser as it lets you scan the barcode of an item and search for the cheapest place to buy it – including on eBay, in online stores and on the high street in your local area. The app will also show additional information like nutrition facts, store hours, and in-store maps. Perfect for saving those pennies!
Shoppers can check stock levels with retailers and set an alert for when a product is back in stock with a retailer. Opening the app inside a store also reveals any available coupons, deals and store maps to help you get your shopping done fast.
Finally its mySupermarket – A comparison website which offers an app that lets shoppers earn cashback when they buy items in stores. Shoppers check items off their list via the app on their mobile phone as they make their way around the supermarket, and then upload a picture of their receipt to claim cashback.
The app includes a section where you can scan items in-store to compare prices at rival stores including Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Boots, Superdrug, Ocado and Majestic. Amazing!
So that’s it from me this week – enjoy your shopping and I hope I made it a little easier for you to get all the best deals!
